Company History
Since founding the company in 2019, Lockridge Builders has been busy. Headquartered in Charleston, SC, we have been working across a wide spectrum of commercial construction projects ranging from temporary to permanent facilities, from renovations of existing buildings to ground up construction, and the provision of construction management services. Our clients have primarily been associated with city, county, and federal government entities, but we have been working with private clients through our construction management services. The majority of our work has been in the State of South Carolina, with a few projects occurring overseas and in other states as well.
Lockridge Builders was started in 2019 by James Lockridge after serving his country for 23 Years in the Army. James' passion for construction comes from his childhood, which led him to major in civil engineering at The Citadel, graduating in 1996 with a degree in civil engineering. Upon graduation from The Citadel, James was commissioned in the Army as an Engineer Officer. His multiple assignments included 3 combat tours in Iraq. He has served as the Chief of Construction for the U.S. Army in Europe, Chief Engineer for Special Forces in Africa, and as a project Engineer with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Since retirement in 2019, James has served as the president of Lockridge Builders LLC.

Too often, companies take shortcuts along the way to creating a project and the result is cost overruns, delays to the contract completion date, and dissatisfaction between the owner and the company. We know for a fact that building a project with an acute attention to quality control is the most critical aspect in delivering a project on time, on budget, and achieving the desired outcome.
Safety is paramount to mission success! At Lockridge Builders, our personnel are trained and certified in safety procedures through OSHA courses, safety management classes, and multiple certifications . We cannot deliver a project without a serious focus on safety.
Veteran Owned and Veteran Run! Our company is 100% staffed by veterans. We take great pride in the welfare of fellow veterans and you will enjoy knowing that the men and women that make up Lockridge Builders are the same men and women who have served our country and or currently serving with the Reserve component of the U.S. Military.
