Building Infrastructure Since 2019
Founded in 2019, Lockridge Builders is based in Charleston, SC, specializing in a range of commercial construction projects, including renovations and ground-up construction. We primarily serve city, county, and federal clients, along with private ones through our management services. Most projects are in South Carolina, with some overseas and in other states.
Last year, we formed a Joint Venture with FBI Construction, a 50-year veteran in South Carolina, enhancing our capacity for complex projects with reduced risk.
James Lockridge, company founder and Army veteran, graduated in Civil Engineering from The Citadel in 1996. He served in various engineering roles during his military career, including Chief of Construction for the U.S. Army in Europe, and has been president of Lockridge Builders since 2019.

Our Projects
-
81st Readiness Division New Equipment Fielding Facility
We turned a 20-acre forested site into a modern equipment fielding facility. The work included clearing timber, demolishing several existing structures, and moving 90,000 cubic yards of earth for grading.
We installed detention ponds, placed 1,600 cubic yards of concrete, built bi-level loading ramps, and added industrial outdoor lighting, fencing, and underground utilities like stormwater, water lines, and electrical systems. The project also included fire hydrants to meet safety requirements. -
James Island Arts and Cultural Center
We transformed an existing city library into a dynamic arts and cultural center for the town of James Island. This project began with a full interior demolition to create a fresh, open canvas for the new space. Structural upgrades were completed to ensure long-term stability, and we installed a brand-new 25-ton HVAC system to meet the building’s updated needs.
The interior was fully revamped with new flooring, modernized electrical and plumbing systems, and carefully selected finishes that elevate the space. Custom millwork was incorporated throughout, adding a unique and polished touch to the final design. -
U.S. Army Europe 1000 Man Camp
We erected dozens of Alaskan Shelters on expeditionary above-ground foundations in extreme cold weather to support Soldiers arriving for exercises in Europe.
Completed in the heart of winter in 2020, the project involved managing a local labor force, coordinating equipment rentals, and organizing thousands of components. Despite working during COVID, the project was finished on time with no injuries or illnesses, ensuring mission success.
